WHY DO WE USE AN AI FOR AN AOI?
AgnosPCB has developed an innovative Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) technology for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), powered by an advanced neural networks.
How does it work? This system compares PCBAs to be inspected to a “Golden Sample” or reference board in optimal condition, allowing for quick identification of any faults. This is a fast and convenient process.
The main neural network has been refined over recent years, drawing on countless PCB errors to evolve its inspection capacity and speed. This advanced AOI system can detect issues that conventional systems may overlook, such as surface damage on the PCBA, bent pins, and the presence or absence of jumpers in connectors. It goes beyond traditional methods, behaving almost human-like by showcasing only real errors, ensuring a highly accurate inspection process. We are constantly improving the core neural network and releasing new version/ architectures.
Capable of detecting a wide range of faults—including missing components, misalignment, short circuits, contamination, and polarity issues—our neural network adapts to the specific inspection needs of any panel or circuit, making it suitable for use at any stage of the manufacturing process.
